Hiking Spots - M’Chigeeng

Updated: May 17, 2021

Are you tired of going to the same hiking spots that everyone goes to? Wanting to check out a different hiking trail than you are used to? This trail might be for you!

M’Chigeeng First Nations, has a beautiful hiking trail that is worth the climb.

M’Chigeeng Trail is a 4.7 kilometer lightly trafficked loop trail located in M'Chigeeng, Ontario, Canada that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. It starts behind the ballpark and pow wow grounds, off Highway 551, just south of Highway 540.The trail offers a number of activity options.

Quite spectacular viewpoints early on, and it was cool to see the windmills up close, they can be a little loud on windy days, but it is very neat! The walk up is a little tough in my opinion, but it just gives me an excuse to start working out. There are a few view points along the way with the final one being the M'Chigeeng "Hollywood sign".

You can see the North Channel all the way to Lake Mindemoya! It is breath talking in every season for sure. The walk takes about 2 to 3 hours depending on your speed.

Leave a comment if you have visited the M'Chigeeng trail, let others know how you found the hike!
