Who We Are

My name is Leah! I am originally from Niagara-On-The-Lake, moved to Guelph for 5 years and went to the University of Guelph. I moved to Manitoulin Island at the end of April, after COVID-19 hit and we went into our first lockdown. We packed up and made the move without stopping. Manitoulin has always had a place in my heart, and even if COVID hadn’t come I was already planning on moving, it just made it happen a little quicker.

I have always had a love for crafting and being creative. I came up with an idea to create a doormat inspired by this beautiful island and it just took off without me even realising it. I plan on continuing to make products and see where my creativity takes me, so come along the journey with me!

Manitoulin Designs is island inspired hand-made goods, home-decor and accessories. Everything is handmade with love, hoping to put a smile on your face. We are located on Manitoulin available for curb-side pickup (from my home and hopefully in stores soon), delivery and shipping. Whether you live on the island, have a cottage or just share our passion for the beauty of Manitoulin Island. Custom requests are always accepted.
